1. Site overview
Now it’s time for another review of one more paper writing company. It’s called EssayShark, and I’ve been really hoping that they would be one of the greatest paper writers on the market. Instead, they’re rather so-so, to be honest.
Is Essayshark legit? The company tries to assure us that yes. The website seemed to be user-friendly and simple to navigate. The choice of fonts, colors, and button layouts are looking really attractive and eye-catching. I also have to admit that these guys have successfully designed their brand image that resembles shark’s fins.
For all the new buyers, there is a “Play quick tour” button. It will show you a well-made cartoon telling that EssayShark is a paper writing company capable of writing almost any kind of academic paper.
I don’t like the fact that these guys have hidden their FAQs, Money Back Guarantee and Revision policies along with information about the prices. I also cannot appreciate the complete absence of the Support Team chat, as you can only send tickets to these guys and wait for their response.
2. Support team
We’ve figured out that these guys don’t wanna chat with the clients. Instead, they want to provide rare and slow responses via emails and tickets, and only after a client registration. I mean, it’s not really bad but how would you attract new potential buyers, if you cannot communicate with them before the purchase?
I was interested in figuring out whether these guys have any sort of loyalty program for their long-term buyers. That’s why I had to place a query on their help desk, and, eventually, I was given this reply:
I’ve got several issues with this reply. First, the speed of response. It took the support agent approximately 11 minutes to send me an automated template! Of course, it’s not a live chat, and I understand that it might have taken some time to copy the reply from FAQs, paste it, and send it. I mean, I’ve read this info about discounts before coming with my question. Just look, it’s the same text:
Secondly, they avoided using my name in response, which makes the message even more automatic and robotic. Like, why even making the Support Team, if it cannot even create a personalized message?
Thirdly, I was not asking for a discount, I was wondering if they had any form of the loyalty program. So instead of copy-pasting the aforementioned message, they could have just said to me: “Sorry, we’ve got no loyalty program. But we’ve got this and that…”. In total, the Support Team of Essay Shark is not really helpful and can’t provide clear answers to your questions.
3. My experience
Is Essayshark reliable? I needed an article review this time. I was just supposed to find an article considering the effectiveness of art therapy in treating depression.
Eventually, during the process of making an order, I could speak to one of the company’s best writers. Honestly, I was not impressed by his work, shown in the preview. The price for two pages and two days deadline was almost $55, which is not really cheap. So, I decided to try assistance another website.
4. Order form
At first, it was all good with the process of making my order. I mean, I’m not a huge fan of companies with bidding systems, but EssayShark seemed reliable, especially after I’ve checked a brief algorithm of their work.
The order form itself was very clean and detailed despite the fact that it did not contain the “Academic level” field and did not offer any extras.
As you can see, you don’t even know the price of your order before submitting it for writers’ review. Only after it becomes published and available for the writers, you’ll be overwhelmed with writers’ applications telling how great they are.
Additionally, they will place their own bids, which you have to consider and choose from. Further, you’ll be required to pay with PayPal, which is rather uncomfortable for the credit cardholders who don’t want to deal with PayPal.
As you can see, the price for two pages is rather significant, and there’s almost no difference in bids between the writers. Moreover, having checked the writers’ applications, I’d like to point out that the majority of these are either auto-generated templates or just a couple of words like “Hello.”
I’ve decided to choose MissElix (yeah, all writers here are registered under nicknames). I am going to share my experience of our communication in further sections of this Essayshark review.
5. Discounts and pricing
Pricing depends on writers’ bids, and there is no minimum or maximum price that you can check before making a purchase. You might have also checked the discount policy of these guys.
For those of you, who have no wish reading much text that makes no sense, let me offer you a short but comprehensive demonstration of EssayShark’s discount policy:
You will have to communicate with the writer on a regular and continuous basis before, during, and after the order’s delivery. You’ve got to send revision requests directly to the writer via chat.
The number of revisions and terms of sending the paper for revision are not established anywhere on the website. So, it’s worth assuming that there are no revision limits.
7. Final quality and Writer`s proficiency
In terms of writer’s proficiency, let me offer you a set of screenshots that you can find below. First and foremost, remember my order? It was supposed to be an article review. That’s all you gotta remember for now. I’ve decided to chat with the potential writer and to know about an article did he/she chose for the review. That’s what I’ve got.
It was rather suspicious for me why did the writer refuse to show me the article that had to be reviewed. I hope that’s what their confidentiality policy. Anyway, you can see for yourself that the writer was definitely not an ENL and let me show you the preview of his writing to demonstrate that, as well.
Thank God, I have got a possibility to check the writing skills of writers before choosing them for the order. I mean, the sample is not that badly written (despite the fact that the line “to determine if whether…” made me reconsider my life choices), but it’s completely irrelevant to the paper, I was looking for.
It had to be an article review of the chosen article with the inclusion of its main points and achievements. Instead, the sample tells about cancer patients and depression caused by their disease.
So, the writer’s proficiency and quality of his writing were highly questionable, and I would evaluate the writer’s proficiency as mediocre. Taking into account the price, I had to pay for this paper, I’ve decided not to proceed with the order with these guys.
8. People talking
Essayshark reviews online are highly mixed and uncertain. Generally, it is okay for each and every online company. However, look at the Essay Shark reviews on Sitejabber and the support’s responses.
Is Essayshark scam? It is up to you deciding. Basically, the percentage of average and negative reviews is bigger compared to the number of positive ones you can find online. However, I’m more concerned about the Support agent’s responses. It feels like she is too defensive and sometimes even rude in her sentences.
I also don’t like the fact that she either blames the client or the writer. In other words, it does not look like EssayShark is ready to take full responsibility for their orders.
9. Pros and Cons
In total, I don’t think I hate the service of EssayShark, but I would not recommend using this service. It’s not because of the price and mediocre paper quality. It’s because of the overall work process that is confusing and time-consuming, at least for me. In particular, let’s summarize what we’ve learned about EssayShark.
- Easy to navigate website that contains brief information about the service.
- Eye-catching design.
- The support team either sends robotic templates on your queries or tends to blame you for the problems with the order; no chat with Support.
- Only accepts PayPal for payments.
- No discount policy, No loyalty program, No revision policy.
- Complete absence of extras.
- Writing quality is mediocre, and you have to spend time in order to find an adequate writer for your task.
- Customers’ feedback is highly mixed across the Internet;
